Information about Small Claims
The Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project helps litigants with small claims court matters, which involve disputes of less than $6,000. Volunteer attorneys provide advice for small claims litigants during our Small Claims Clinics held twice each month. Attorneys can help with procedure issues, stating a proper legal claim, and understanding how to defend in these matters. This clinic operates on a remote basis and you can attend by Zoom or by phone. If you are in need of legal assistance for a Small Claims matter, please click the button below to fill out an intake form.
If you need our help but cannot complete the online intake form, please click here for other ways to request our help. The fastest and best way to request our services is through the online intake request form.
