The VLP connects people with volunteer lawyers to assist with civil legal problems. Civil legal problems include Family Matters, Small Claims, Worker’s Rights and Probate Matters.

Our Services — How We Can Help

The fastest way to get help is to fill out an Intake Request Form (see links below for different case types). We will contact you by phone (calling from a blocked or Google Voice number) to do an Intake Interview.

If you have no internet access/computer, you can call our intake line in Southern Maine on Mondays (1-3:30PM) or Fridays (9-11:30AM). at 1-800-442-4293. For Northern Maine, please call 1-888-956-4276 on Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Family Law

If you have a question about a divorce or parental rights case, you may be able to get free legal advice from our Court House Assistance Project (CHAP) currently taking place via zoom/phone. Please complete this form to request an appointment.
